Indonesian Legend and Michelin Chef William Wongso Together with Indonesian Ambassador Iwan Bogananta Attended the Trial Production of Rendang Padang in Bulgaria under the Program Indonesia - "Spice Up the World"

The official launch of the Indonesia – Spice Up the World program was given this week in Bulgaria at the production base of Bella Bulgaria in Plovdiv in the presence of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Albania Iwan Bogananta, the Culinary Adviser to the President of Indonesia and Chief Culinary of the G20 Summit in November in Indonesia William Wongso and the Chairman of the Bulgarian Halal Association. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, Sandjaga Uno, is monitoring the online trial activities and the first production of rendang padang in Bulgaria.

Bella Bulgaria is an official partner of the Indonesian government in its campaign to promote the country's gastro-diplomatic business card around the world. Ambassador Iwan Bogananta praised the company's efforts for the cooperation in the project, the investment in establishing a rendang padang production plant and the company's commitment to produce other Indonesian specialties as well.

The production process of rendang at Bella Bulgaria has a capacity of 18 tons per month using a special Asian technology and a recipe by top chef William Wongso.  The spices used are directly sourced from Indonesia. William Wongso held comprehensive R&D quality control of the initial production. "It tastes like Indonesian rendang," was his conclusion.

The Chief Operating Officer of Bella Bulgaria Dimitar Mitev gave assurances that the company's randang will be available to the Muslim community because the product will have a halal certificate.

The product is expected to be on the markets in Europe and the Middle East in early 2023.
