“Sachi for Kids” received the New Product award

November 26

The children functional meat products series “Sachi for Kids” received the highest appraisal of the jury on the national competition Innovations in the Food Industry - Products and Technologies, organized by the Union of Food Industry. Children’s sausages were awarded in the “End Product” category. They have been developed under the control of the Bulgarian Pediatric Association (BPA), as their type was determined by the parents - sausage with carrots, chicken fillet and baby sausages. Sausages are made from selected meat without soy or coloring agents and have reduced salt content. They are designed specifically for consumption by children over 1 year of age and so lack the gluten allergen in their composition. The new products are enriched with the main vitamin groups A, C and E, known as a strong antioxidant complex, strengthening the immune system, as well as calcium derived from milk.

The competition was held for the second time in partnership with the Federation of Scientific Technical Unions, the University of Food Technologies in Plovdiv and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. It is dedicated to the Food Industry Day and is part of the traditional celebration of the holiday, the conduct of the Seventh National Scientific-Practical Conference in the House of Technology, Sofia.

Currently, the “Sachi for Kids” products are unique for the Bulgarian market and are made in response to parents’ expectations. A special survey conducted by the company (in September, 2009) showed that Bulgarian parents would prefer functional foods for their children, specifically designed for growing children. Over 90% of the parents prefer to be able to choose for their children such foods, and 88% identified as compulsory the enrichment with the core vitamins group and calcium. Thus, Bella Bulgaria recognized its responsibility to create a food series especially designed for children. All elements that satisfy the nutritional needs of growing children have been considered in the development of the products.
