Bella Bulgaria - an active participant in Food Banks

The food holding of Bella Bulgaria participated in the annual meeting of the Food Banks Forum, organized in late May in the capital. The meeting was held with the support and active participation of the Ministry for Agriculture and Forestry. The leading topic was the analysis of opportunities and constraints to creating an effective model for food banks in Bulgaria, aimed at both daily and long-term assistance to those who are socially disadvantaged and impoverished. According to FORA, the Community Development Foundation, those living below the poverty threshold in Bulgaria and live on less than BGN 211 per month per household are over 1.6 million.
“The creation of mechanisms for sustainability of the food bank in our country is extremely important,” said Bella Bulgaria. As an active participant in the Food Banks project for our country, the company is committed to make monthly contributions in the form of donations of food supplies.
“Currently, institutions are working on creating legislation to regulate the operation of food banks,” said the Minister of Agriculture, Miroslav Naydenov. The Ministry of Agriculture is a member of the Food Banks Forum and it actively assists in the effective work of the model. The appeal of the business is to reduce resources to ensure appropriate conditions for expedient economic contributions.
